Soccer, projects and....Blog Candy!!

Okay, I know I promised to post some blog candy a couple days ago but, what was I thinking? The weekend has become the crazy part of my week! We have entered the World of Soccer. All you soccer moms out there will totally know what I am talking about. We are still in the little leagues of it, only one practice a week and one game. Per child of course....I'm glad my son decided he didn't want to play. Two kids is enough! It was a beautiful weekend tho. The weather was awesome. The sun got bright during the afternoon game, but every few minutes it would rain so, it kept us nice an comfy. Only in Florida can you have rain on a sunny day. It is one of the wonders of the world.

I put together a few goodies for Blog Candy today. I have been having way too much fun making stuff with coasters and patterned paper lately. Stampin' Up! has made it even easier to use these two items together by offering the Tombow Liquid Adhesive. If you haven't used it, you've got to! It is awesome! My candy consists of a pad of designer paper(5 different colors in there!), a So Many Sayings stamp set (mount these individually on the sides of dominos for ton of stamps!), a stack of blank coaster, a brand new tube of Tombo Liquid Adhesive, and a plastic box full of fun punched shapes (we'll call it 'shape salad'). In order to be in the drawing for this blog candy, please leave me a comment on this post answering this question: "What is your favorite birthday memory?" Also, Please include your name and return address if it isn't already on your profile. I did a contest once and the person I drew didn't have any contact info! So sad!

I have also been busy making items for my craft booth. Here are a few of the clipboards I made. I like the western one the best! I'll have more to show you tomorrow. really!

What fabulous goodies!!! My fav. b-day memory is when I turned 21. It was Thanksgiving Day and I wanted to go to a bar because I was finally legal to drink. Well, I found that all the bars were closed, except for one. I walked in and it was a biker bar! I decided I didn't need a drink that bad and walked out and went home!!!

My favorite birthday was when I turned 14. My mom and I went to see Jan and Dean in concert and then had a family party at home with a Ziggy cake!

I don't remember if it was my 16th birthday or not (I think so), but my folks had a surprise party for me with all of my friends! It was really fun!

It's hard to choose, but for now I would say my favorite birthday memory was a few years ago when my husband surprised me with a scuba diving session at Underwater World in Singapore where we were living at the time. We dove in their huge tanks for about an hour with eagle rays, sharks and even a dugong (like a manatee). The kids got to watch from the other side of the glass. It was VERY cool!

Awesome blog candy! Well, I can't think of a fav b-day right now, but my most memorable birthday is when brother was playing high school baseball, and the batter hit a line-drive right into his eye. We had to take him to the hospital. I'll never forget that!

It's funny, but my best birthday memory isn't my own. I helped through a surprise party for an older gentleman I worked with and had the time of my life. After the bulk of the guests left, there were just a few of us and we stood around telling dirty jokes. My friend had the best time and I had so much fun enjoying him having such a good time.

Wow! That is some amazing blog candy! For a switch up I'll tell a funny birthday memory. When I was about 11 we went out for supper to Earls and I was wearing a dress I sewed myself. As usual, they had me stand on the chair when they sang happy birthday but when I sat down my dress got caught on the back of the chair! So embarrassing! To top it off, it must have bothered my sister because we recently found out, she thought it had happened to her!

Thank you for offering all the fun prizes! I don't really have one birthday that stands out, but I really enjoyed all of my birthdays as a child because they included all of my wonderful relatives that are no longer living. All the grandparents & aunts, uncles, & cousins would come and I enjoyed those big parties with all my loved ones so much.

My fave birthday memory was when my husband and I spent a few days out of town, just to chill and relax. On my birthday itself, I was watching tv in the hotel room when he, my sister and friends came in with my birthday cake! :) It was a really nice surprise!

My favorite birthday memory happened only a couple years ago. I had said something in passing about how molten chocolate lava cake would make the most luxurious birthday cake ever and my husband went to all the trouble to make me one from scratch! It was such an amazing surprise!

Thanks for sharing the super fun blog candy!
When I turned 50, my husband and kids threw me a surprise party with all our family and friends. How he pulled it off without me knowing, I'll never figure out. I was shocked!!! Would love to win this great candy!

My favorite birthday memory to date would have to be the one a month ago because I am fortunate to have my 3 children and their children get together in one place for my celebration.

Kids sports will run you ragged, but there is nothing more fun that watching kids play sports or perform! Its just awesome!

What wonderful goodies- Thanks so much for the opportunity to win! If I win, please post my name on your blog and I will provide my contact info to you (it is not currently posted anywhere on the web, and I'd prefer not to post it-thanks for understanding!) My favorite birthday memory is when I turned 21. At the time I was on a missions trip in a remote region of El Salvador with a group from my college.
Favorite birthday memory? When one year I was feeling like an ugly duckling and not part of the teen age crowd and my Grandmother bought me a really popular clothing outfit.

What a nice blog candy!!! I love Soccer and I wish one day my DD will play it too (she is 4 now).
I am from Peru and over there we love SOCCER!!!!! Here, I don't understand much about sport (just a little bit of Baseball) but nothing about football.
Anyway, my favorite birthday memory was when I turned 15, I had my "Quinceañera Party" I invited all my friends and her and his friends, LOL I had tons of people there, we danced until very late and I got a lot of presents too!!!
That was one of my favorite B'days and I wish I could have another party like that soon, LOL.

God bless

My fav birthday was when I dated my hubby...it was all a surprise and just told me to dress up. In the evening I had a limo picking me up (first time for a country girl) then we drove into town and and ate at a very fancy restaurant with guys singing love songs all evening. Then we just cruised the city. It was great. Thanks for a chance at winning some great candy.

Bradley

Sunday, my best friend died. My sweetheart of 20 years died suddenly from diabetes. We didn't know he had diabetes. It came quick and took him from me. Brad was more than just my husband, he was my best friend. I relied so very much on his strength to guide me and my children through this life. I admit I feel a bit lost without him, already. I had planned on much, much more time with him. Brad and I met on January 28th, 1989. We were both at a nightclub for under age night with our friends that had dragged us there. We were both ready to leave when we were talked into one more dance. That dance changed our lives. We hit it off right away and danced the rest of the night. In face, we were together from then on. I remember that after that night, I waited all day for his call. It was love right away for me. I felt something I had never felt before and knew that he was the one for me. We dated for six months before Brad went to Texas to go to school. We talked a lot on the phone, and I

Bloggers challenge and candy

I know I said I would post some blog candy yesterday but I didn't even get near my computer! What a crazy day! I had planned on doing it the night before but...I was in the kitchen doing the dishes and I was so dog tired that I laid my head down on the counter for a minute. My son came into the room and said, "go to bed mom, dad and I will do the dishes." Now, who in thier right mind would turn down that offer? My boys HATE to do anything in the kitchen that doesn't involve eating. I immediately turned off my water(boiling for herb tea) and skedaddled upstairs and went to bed. I'm no dummy! The kitchen was not cleaned to my standards, but I'm not about to look a gift horse in the mouth! Speaking of gifts, I have a little blog candy offer today. In honor of my 8000 hits, I am offering the following: A simply scrappin kit "Just Delightful", a stamp set "Delight in Life", three mini spools of ribbon, some acrylic tiles AND a copy of the latest

Doubles with candy!!

Today is another fun summer day at my house. The kids are running here and there and I'm just trying to keep up. I realized I hadn't sent out Father's day cards yet, so that is what I worked on today. I tried to keep these nice and clean and manly. I remember going to a demonstration at a Stampin' Up! convention years ago where Kevin Theeson and another guy(I forget his name....) talked about 'manly' cards. One of the things they stressed was that guys don't like cards made with pastel cards. They prefer bold bright and earth element colors. I'm not sure if they suggested we stay away from florals too, but I kind of figured that was a safe idea. ;o) For this card I started with some textured Wild Wasabi cardstock cut to 10-1/2 x 5-1/4. That gave me a 5-1/4" card when folded. The striped paper across the center is from a retired SU simply scrappin kit...primary colors I think it was called. I added a strip of Real Red to each side of the stripes for
