Home from Convention

We had SOO much fun in Denver! What a blast to spend four days with a bunch of crazy stampers. I believe stampers are the best people in the world!

I will be uploading some pictures in the next few days of friends, fun and stamped samples, but tonight, before I collapse, I wanted to share the total highlight of the week with you all. The very last day of convention was the awards ceremony. I have been to loads of these and some of them leave a bit to be desired. This year however, it was wonderful! The entertainment was put on by Ryan Shupe and the Rubber Band. It was wonderful! I am putting a link here for you all to check them out. If you have a chance to see them, go! I purchased ALL their CDs and am anxiously awaiting when I can see them in concert again.

One of the things that made the band so awesome was the fact that they totally loved what they were doing. It was clear on every one of their faces and in everything they did. They were also am amazing bunch of musicians. wow. No words can describe them! Yes, I am gushing, but...my first love is music (after family of course) and these guys just had it!
This card is one of the swaps I did. The background is done by spritzing glossy paper with water, randomly splotching reinkers on the wet paper with a paint brush. When you get the colors all over the paper, take some Saran Wrap and lie it over the paper and scrunch it up. Let the sarah wrapped paper dry for a couple hours and then peel it off. I got this technique from Pat Huntoon. It always looks different and amazing. I really like it! The focal point is from the Garden silhouette set. I used the M3 on the stamp and then added a bit of clitter to the centers of the flowers.
Have a good weekend!

Birthday blog candy!

In honor of my birthday, I am offering another package of blog candy! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite thing about getting older. :o) The candy includes a package of cardstock, metal edge tags, sanding block, cool metal border stickers, silver gel pen, and a set of mini gift cards stamped by yours truly. For some reason, my 'rechargeable batteries' decided not to 'recharge' anymore. I am quite distraught about that. I planned to share these pictures a couple of days ago, but....I had to wait til I bought some new batteries. I have to say tho, I was really afraid I had broken my camera! I'm glad it is just the batteries! I borrowed my friend's Precious stamp set the other day and have been having fun with it! I made this card using a square card base of chocolate chip (5-12" square). I stamped the swirlies in blue bayou onto a large piece of whisper white and onto a smaller piece. I cut out a butterfly and stuck i...

Bradley

Sunday, my best friend died. My sweetheart of 20 years died suddenly from diabetes. We didn't know he had diabetes. It came quick and took him from me. Brad was more than just my husband, he was my best friend. I relied so very much on his strength to guide me and my children through this life. I admit I feel a bit lost without him, already. I had planned on much, much more time with him. Brad and I met on January 28th, 1989. We were both at a nightclub for under age night with our friends that had dragged us there. We were both ready to leave when we were talked into one more dance. That dance changed our lives. We hit it off right away and danced the rest of the night. In face, we were together from then on. I remember that after that night, I waited all day for his call. It was love right away for me. I felt something I had never felt before and knew that he was the one for me. We dated for six months before Brad went to Texas to go to school. We talked a lot on the phone, and I...

Soccer, projects and....Blog Candy!!

Okay, I know I promised to post some blog candy a couple days ago but, what was I thinking? The weekend has become the crazy part of my week! We have entered the World of Soccer. All you soccer moms out there will totally know what I am talking about. We are still in the little leagues of it, only one practice a week and one game. Per child of course....I'm glad my son decided he didn't want to play. Two kids is enough! It was a beautiful weekend tho. The weather was awesome. The sun got bright during the afternoon game, but every few minutes it would rain so, it kept us nice an comfy. Only in Florida can you have rain on a sunny day. It is one of the wonders of the world. I put together a few goodies for Blog Candy today. I have been having way too much fun making stuff with coasters and patterned paper lately. Stampin' Up! has made it even easier to use these two items together by offering the Tombow Liquid Adhesive. If you haven't used it, you've got to! It is aw...
