In honor of my birthday, I am offering another package of blog candy! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite thing about getting older. :o) The candy includes a package of cardstock, metal edge tags, sanding block, cool metal border stickers, silver gel pen, and a set of mini gift cards stamped by yours truly.
For some reason, my 'rechargeable batteries' decided not to 'recharge' anymore. I am quite distraught about that. I planned to share these pictures a couple of days ago, but....I had to wait til I bought some new batteries. I have to say tho, I was really afraid I had broken my camera! I'm glad it is just the batteries!
I borrowed my friend's Precious stamp set the other day and have been having fun with it! I made this card using a square card base of chocolate chip (5-12" square). I stamped the swirlies in blue bayou onto a large piece of whisper white and onto a smaller piece. I cut out a butterfly and stuck it on with dimensionals. You know how butterflies just cry out for glitter, so I coated this one with clear stickles. I liked the look so I carried the stickels onto the dotted lines in the swirls. I layered the white pieces and put them on the card base. The edges are blue bayou stitched ribbon. I finished the card off with some square Ice rhinestones on the let. I love these colors together! Since I had the set and colors out, I went ahead and made this little pouch card while I was at it. I used a scallop note from Stampin' Up! that I had stamped the swirl from Precious on with Versamark ink. I scored the scallop at 2" from one side and 1-1/2" from the two sides. Cut out the little triangles you make when you score and then fold the sides in and the bottom up. Easy peasy! I wrapped some vellum cardstock around it 'belly-band' style and added some blue bayou ribbon. I stamped the butterfly on white cardstock and cut him out. He is stuck on with a dimensional and touched up with some glitter. The little tag inside has more swirls and a saying from Full of Life, a new set in the Stampin' Up! mini catalog. I really like this set...I may to buy my own!

Have a wonderful birthday.

My favorite thing about getting older is having better perspective. As I look around at my VERY dusty and not very tidy house, I'm thankful that I finally realized that having a perfectly clean house is not what life is all about... plus, no one ever comes over and sees it when it is clean anyway! :)
Thirdly, I pay more attention to the important stuff instead of sweating the small stuff.
Forthly, now don't laugh.....When I get even older, I take University courses for free!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love, Shari B.
What I like about getting older is that people take me more seriously and this gives me more self confidence.

My fave thing about getting older is that you're wiser too - you've experienced another year of life.
Hope you have a fab b-day!

Thank you for offering such nice blog candy. :)
What I like about getting older... Learning and growing. In my personal relationships and with the Lord. Each day is a gift and we need to remember that.
