Blogger Challenge week 21!

This week our bloggers challenge was do make something using Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Brocade blue and Chocolate chip. I think these colors look awesome together! I couldn't wait to play this morning! I happened to receive a special surprise from Stampin' Up! yesterday so...had to use that too! This set is called Time Well Spent and will be in the new Spring/Summer catalog as a level three hostess set. Isn't SU awesome?! I adore this set!

The project I made is a little mini scrapbook/journal that may end up with my daughter...we shall see....The 'cover' is made from chocolate chip cardstock. I put a piece of Whisper White on there and stamped some flowers with my Chocolate Chip pad. The big flower in the upper left along with the two larger flowers in the bottom corners and the butterfly are all cut out and adhered with dimensionals. I know, it took me all morning! I tried to stick with the colors in the challenge and I really like how they turned out. I added a strip of brocade blue along the bottom to add some fun and to make up for my bad measuring and used the chocolate chip marker to make a dotted line on there.

As you may know, I am on a never ended crusade to use up all these scraps I have been keeping for way too long. Hence, the inside of this little book is a bit unique. I went through my white folder and got a bunch of different sized papers and bound them together with my Bind It All. I stamped some random borders with chocolate chip on the pages and left lots of room for pictures, thoughts, or whatever this little book ends up being for. I used my snail to adhere the last page of my little 'book' to the cover. Easy peasy!! When I was done, I decided the butterfly really needed a bit of sparkle so I went back and added some with my stickles. I hope you like it! Be sure to check out the other bloggers in this challenge. They do great stuff!

Bradley

Sunday, my best friend died. My sweetheart of 20 years died suddenly from diabetes. We didn't know he had diabetes. It came quick and took him from me. Brad was more than just my husband, he was my best friend. I relied so very much on his strength to guide me and my children through this life. I admit I feel a bit lost without him, already. I had planned on much, much more time with him. Brad and I met on January 28th, 1989. We were both at a nightclub for under age night with our friends that had dragged us there. We were both ready to leave when we were talked into one more dance. That dance changed our lives. We hit it off right away and danced the rest of the night. In face, we were together from then on. I remember that after that night, I waited all day for his call. It was love right away for me. I felt something I had never felt before and knew that he was the one for me. We dated for six months before Brad went to Texas to go to school. We talked a lot on the phone, and I...

Birthday blog candy!

In honor of my birthday, I am offering another package of blog candy! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite thing about getting older. :o) The candy includes a package of cardstock, metal edge tags, sanding block, cool metal border stickers, silver gel pen, and a set of mini gift cards stamped by yours truly. For some reason, my 'rechargeable batteries' decided not to 'recharge' anymore. I am quite distraught about that. I planned to share these pictures a couple of days ago, but....I had to wait til I bought some new batteries. I have to say tho, I was really afraid I had broken my camera! I'm glad it is just the batteries! I borrowed my friend's Precious stamp set the other day and have been having fun with it! I made this card using a square card base of chocolate chip (5-12" square). I stamped the swirlies in blue bayou onto a large piece of whisper white and onto a smaller piece. I cut out a butterfly and stuck i...

Soccer, projects and....Blog Candy!!

Okay, I know I promised to post some blog candy a couple days ago but, what was I thinking? The weekend has become the crazy part of my week! We have entered the World of Soccer. All you soccer moms out there will totally know what I am talking about. We are still in the little leagues of it, only one practice a week and one game. Per child of course....I'm glad my son decided he didn't want to play. Two kids is enough! It was a beautiful weekend tho. The weather was awesome. The sun got bright during the afternoon game, but every few minutes it would rain so, it kept us nice an comfy. Only in Florida can you have rain on a sunny day. It is one of the wonders of the world. I put together a few goodies for Blog Candy today. I have been having way too much fun making stuff with coasters and patterned paper lately. Stampin' Up! has made it even easier to use these two items together by offering the Tombow Liquid Adhesive. If you haven't used it, you've got to! It is aw...
