Miss me?

I missed a few days posting here due to family crazies and a subtle stomach flu that has me feeling less than great. I was feeling better this morning, til I saw the mess that had accumulated for me. sigh,...
I have also been figuring out what to make for my Stampin' Up! convention swaps. Here are a few of the rough drafts I came up with. I'll probably make 10 or so and pick my favorites for my swaps. Let me know what you think!
This first one uses chocolate chip and close to cocoa cardstock for the card base. I stamped the print patterns (retiring so, obviously won't be using that on the swaps) with Versamark on the cocoa and then layered a piece of celery designer paper on that. The scallop is made with the new Stampin' Up! scallop border punch. This thing is SO awesome!! Totally easy to use! I stamped the bird from Always with celery and colored it in with markers. The words are rubons added to a chipboard swirl. I added a celery ribbon and a pink rhinestone to the chipboard to finish it off.

The next one also uses chocolate chip cardstock. I stamped the words (new from the new catalog!!) with Vanilla and the heart in chocolate chip and cameo coral and layered them. Pretty straight forward, but I love the look!
I have lots of new colors and goodies to use, so I will be playing again tonight.
In other news, I signed up for Weight Watchers today. If you are a member too, let me know! We can work together!

I love, love, love the bird one. That stamps is such a fave of mine. Congrats on your decision to jump on the WW bandwagon. I have not regretted it a bit since I joined. What do you have to lose?...besides weight!!

Birthday blog candy!

In honor of my birthday, I am offering another package of blog candy! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite thing about getting older. :o) The candy includes a package of cardstock, metal edge tags, sanding block, cool metal border stickers, silver gel pen, and a set of mini gift cards stamped by yours truly. For some reason, my 'rechargeable batteries' decided not to 'recharge' anymore. I am quite distraught about that. I planned to share these pictures a couple of days ago, but....I had to wait til I bought some new batteries. I have to say tho, I was really afraid I had broken my camera! I'm glad it is just the batteries! I borrowed my friend's Precious stamp set the other day and have been having fun with it! I made this card using a square card base of chocolate chip (5-12" square). I stamped the swirlies in blue bayou onto a large piece of whisper white and onto a smaller piece. I cut out a butterfly and stuck i...

Bradley

Sunday, my best friend died. My sweetheart of 20 years died suddenly from diabetes. We didn't know he had diabetes. It came quick and took him from me. Brad was more than just my husband, he was my best friend. I relied so very much on his strength to guide me and my children through this life. I admit I feel a bit lost without him, already. I had planned on much, much more time with him. Brad and I met on January 28th, 1989. We were both at a nightclub for under age night with our friends that had dragged us there. We were both ready to leave when we were talked into one more dance. That dance changed our lives. We hit it off right away and danced the rest of the night. In face, we were together from then on. I remember that after that night, I waited all day for his call. It was love right away for me. I felt something I had never felt before and knew that he was the one for me. We dated for six months before Brad went to Texas to go to school. We talked a lot on the phone, and I...

Soccer, projects and....Blog Candy!!

Okay, I know I promised to post some blog candy a couple days ago but, what was I thinking? The weekend has become the crazy part of my week! We have entered the World of Soccer. All you soccer moms out there will totally know what I am talking about. We are still in the little leagues of it, only one practice a week and one game. Per child of course....I'm glad my son decided he didn't want to play. Two kids is enough! It was a beautiful weekend tho. The weather was awesome. The sun got bright during the afternoon game, but every few minutes it would rain so, it kept us nice an comfy. Only in Florida can you have rain on a sunny day. It is one of the wonders of the world. I put together a few goodies for Blog Candy today. I have been having way too much fun making stuff with coasters and patterned paper lately. Stampin' Up! has made it even easier to use these two items together by offering the Tombow Liquid Adhesive. If you haven't used it, you've got to! It is aw...
