Scrappin the beach

I started this mini scrapbook a long time ago and just found it when I moved some things around in my office. I had all the pictures tucked into this little album and the cover stamped. That was it! It was a good start and I was in the mood so I decided to tackle it! I added a bit of rolling to the cover with the boho wheel and close to cocoa ink and sponged a bit to pull it together. I may have to add more dates besides the 2007...we didn't end up going to the beach as much as I thought we would. I added the tab on the top with the tab punch and a generic date stamp.
The inside front cover is blank. This is my 'entry page.' I put a strip of DSP along the bottom, this one is from the Holiday treasure collection. I sponged the edges and rolled the boho wheel along it using the close to cocoa ink pad. The quote is on velum and from a book of quotes I picked up somewhere... probably at Joanns or somewhere. I stuck it on using mini glue dots. I planned to cover them with something so they wouldn't show through, but they didn't show at all! Happy day! The sand castle is another random item I found in my drawer of wonders. No label! Shame on me! It feels like real sand so I made sure it was on a page that didn't face a photo. No page protectors in this little book.
I am not going to show you every page I did in the book, I will just show a few to illustrate how I tied them all together. I didn't have a lot of journaling to go on these pages...it was just a fun day at the beach. The pictures really tell the story. For these pages, I used the DSP from this year's SAB sale...loads of paper!! I sponged all the edges with close to cocoa and added more boho rolling to tie the pages all together. These next two pages use more paper from the same SAB paper set, again, I sponged all the edges with the cocoa ink and rolled with boho. It almost makes it all look like a kit when you have the same pattern going throughout the book. I was going for an easy, relaxed feel to this book to go with the beach theme. I especially love this picture of my daughter....no need for words there!

These pages use the same paper and boho but I placed my pictures a bit differently. See the oreo stuck to my sons back? Too funny!

Here are two last pages using blue DSP and heave sponging. Same techinques.
I had a ball doing these pages! They were quick and easy and very inexpensive. The SAB DSP has 16 sheets of 12 x 12 paper...I think I only used three sheets for this whole little album! You just can't beat that deal!

HI
Love your little book, I agree that they are fun and a great value. I was very interested in how you repeated the design and the pages to "hold" the book together but the pages don't look the same. Nice
I like the music too. Nice blog

Bradley

Sunday, my best friend died. My sweetheart of 20 years died suddenly from diabetes. We didn't know he had diabetes. It came quick and took him from me. Brad was more than just my husband, he was my best friend. I relied so very much on his strength to guide me and my children through this life. I admit I feel a bit lost without him, already. I had planned on much, much more time with him. Brad and I met on January 28th, 1989. We were both at a nightclub for under age night with our friends that had dragged us there. We were both ready to leave when we were talked into one more dance. That dance changed our lives. We hit it off right away and danced the rest of the night. In face, we were together from then on. I remember that after that night, I waited all day for his call. It was love right away for me. I felt something I had never felt before and knew that he was the one for me. We dated for six months before Brad went to Texas to go to school. We talked a lot on the phone, and I...

Blog candy!!

I am almost to 1000 hits on my blog so I am giving away some blog candy! I've got a cool stamped canvas ready for your picture, some clear and colored buttons, sticky tiles, a stampin sponge, and a stack of about 50 coasters ready for your creativity! To be entered in the drawing for the blog candy, please answer the following question. I will draw a winner tomorrow (Friday) night and post the winner on Saturday after I get back from the SU regional in Tampa. Q: What is the last book you read that really inspired you?

Doubles with candy!!

Today is another fun summer day at my house. The kids are running here and there and I'm just trying to keep up. I realized I hadn't sent out Father's day cards yet, so that is what I worked on today. I tried to keep these nice and clean and manly. I remember going to a demonstration at a Stampin' Up! convention years ago where Kevin Theeson and another guy(I forget his name....) talked about 'manly' cards. One of the things they stressed was that guys don't like cards made with pastel cards. They prefer bold bright and earth element colors. I'm not sure if they suggested we stay away from florals too, but I kind of figured that was a safe idea. ;o) For this card I started with some textured Wild Wasabi cardstock cut to 10-1/2 x 5-1/4. That gave me a 5-1/4" card when folded. The striped paper across the center is from a retired SU simply scrappin kit...primary colors I think it was called. I added a strip of Real Red to each side of the stripes for...
