May was national scrap booking month and I did make it a point to scrapbook. I just didn't get pictures of the pages posted in May. This page was inspired by a layout I saw in one of my many many scrapping magazines. I changed it quite a bit, but kept the circle on the left. LOL Funny how an inspiration morphs! These pictures are of my daughter Sarah on her birthday almost a year ago! It seems like only last week....this year has gone by amazingly fast. I can't even wrap my brain around it!


I cut the big circle with the new Circle Scissor from Stampin' Up!. This isn't the old scissor...this one is new and improved and SO easy to use! The blade goes either way, a real improvement from the one we carried years ago. It is super easy to make circles of all sizes with it. I use the butterfly die to make the butterflies and also to make the soft background butterflies.











You can barely see them here, but I used the negative left from when I cut out the butterfly and then sponged inside it with apricot ink to make soft prints in the background. The Wings on Sarah are just a butterfly folded and adhered right to the picture. Sarah absolutely loves the look of this picture. What 11 year old girl wouldn't love to have wings?

Fridays challenge #63

This week has been crazy. We had a fun Labor day and then actually went to school the rest of the week! The storms decided to stay away for a while. I'm glad. Our challenge this time was a color challenge. The colors are Ridinghood red, Tangerine and Pacific Point. All new In Colors at Stampin' Up! for the new catalog. I love all these colors but, together....they were a challenge! I decided to play up the red and blue and use the tangerine as a highlight. I pulled out my True Friend stamp set and stamped the large medallion style stamp all over the ridinghood red using my basic black stamp pad. Soccer, projects and....Blog Candy!!

Okay, I know I promised to post some blog candy a couple days ago but, what was I thinking? The weekend has become the crazy part of my week! We have entered the World of Soccer. All you soccer moms out there will totally know what I am talking about. We are still in the little leagues of it, only one practice a week and one game. Per child of course....I'm glad my son decided he didn't want to play. Two kids is enough! It was a beautiful weekend tho. The weather was awesome. The sun got bright during the afternoon game, but every few minutes it would rain so, it kept us nice an comfy. Only in Florida can you have rain on a sunny day. It is one of the wonders of the world. I put together a few goodies for Blog Candy today. I have been having way too much fun making stuff with coasters and patterned paper lately. Birthday blog candy!

In honor of my birthday, I am offering another package of blog candy! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite thing about getting older. :o) The candy includes a package of cardstock, metal edge tags, sanding block, cool metal border stickers, silver gel pen, and a set of mini gift cards stamped by yours truly. For some reason, my 'rechargeable batteries' decided not to 'recharge' anymore. I am quite distraught about that. I planned to share these pictures a couple of days ago, but....I had to wait til I bought some new batteries. I have to say tho, I was really afraid I had broken my camera!
