RAKed!

Lookie what I got in the mail today! My bestest friend Michelle sent me this adorable Bella card. I don't own any Bella stamps...yet... But they are quite tempting! This one is SO cute! Michelle says the B on the bag is for Beckie, not Bella. ;o)

She used the awesome new pallet of prints paper from SU on this card so, I know she loves me. She even cut the little dress out of a sheet! That paper is hoard paper! I can't even bring myself to use it yet! Thanks for making my day Michelle!

This next card is one I actually made today. I was playing around with the Au Chocolate paper and loved the effect I got when I brayered over it. On this one, I used Pretty in Pink to brayer over the chocolate. I also sponged the edges with chocolate chip ink. It really changes the look of the paper and makes it look more shabby chic. I love it! The stamp is from the soon to be retired Girlfriends set. I have gotten a lot of mileage out of that set. I think it is one of my daughter's favorites. For the flower at the bottom, I used my SU daisy punch. I punched out a daisy and then used the negative to trace a daisy on vanilla paper. I colored it in with my M3 markers and used the same punch to punch it out. Cool, huh? Maybe not a totally new idea, but new to me!

Birthday blog candy!

In honor of my birthday, I am offering another package of blog candy! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite thing about getting older. :o) The candy includes a package of cardstock, metal edge tags, sanding block, cool metal border stickers, silver gel pen, and a set of mini gift cards stamped by yours truly. For some reason, my 'rechargeable batteries' decided not to 'recharge' anymore. I am quite distraught about that. I planned to share these pictures a couple of days ago, but....I had to wait til I bought some new batteries. I have to say tho, I was really afraid I had broken my camera! I'm glad it is just the batteries! I borrowed my friend's Precious stamp set the other day and have been having fun with it! I made this card using a square card base of chocolate chip (5-12" square). I stamped the swirlies in blue bayou onto a large piece of whisper white and onto a smaller piece. I cut out a butterfly and stuck i...

Bradley

Sunday, my best friend died. My sweetheart of 20 years died suddenly from diabetes. We didn't know he had diabetes. It came quick and took him from me. Brad was more than just my husband, he was my best friend. I relied so very much on his strength to guide me and my children through this life. I admit I feel a bit lost without him, already. I had planned on much, much more time with him. Brad and I met on January 28th, 1989. We were both at a nightclub for under age night with our friends that had dragged us there. We were both ready to leave when we were talked into one more dance. That dance changed our lives. We hit it off right away and danced the rest of the night. In face, we were together from then on. I remember that after that night, I waited all day for his call. It was love right away for me. I felt something I had never felt before and knew that he was the one for me. We dated for six months before Brad went to Texas to go to school. We talked a lot on the phone, and I...

Soccer, projects and....Blog Candy!!

Okay, I know I promised to post some blog candy a couple days ago but, what was I thinking? The weekend has become the crazy part of my week! We have entered the World of Soccer. All you soccer moms out there will totally know what I am talking about. We are still in the little leagues of it, only one practice a week and one game. Per child of course....I'm glad my son decided he didn't want to play. Two kids is enough! It was a beautiful weekend tho. The weather was awesome. The sun got bright during the afternoon game, but every few minutes it would rain so, it kept us nice an comfy. Only in Florida can you have rain on a sunny day. It is one of the wonders of the world. I put together a few goodies for Blog Candy today. I have been having way too much fun making stuff with coasters and patterned paper lately. Stampin' Up! has made it even easier to use these two items together by offering the Tombow Liquid Adhesive. If you haven't used it, you've got to! It is aw...
