Friday's challenge and....table dancing??

Ha! Did that title get your attention? ;o) It is not what you think! First, the challenge. This week we had to use Green Galore, Turquoise, and pink on our projects. I made a small pink card with a blue flower. The flower is from the 5 petal punch from Stampin' Up! as is the leaves. I sponged th edges on both to add some depth. The swirls are from the baroque motif stamp set, the dotted tag is from Be happy, and the thank you is from Enjoy. All SU sets. You might notice the background is blue.....I don't particularly like it, but my desk was completely covered and, well, this paper was a handy background. I think I'll go back to my white backgrounds!
Last night was our stamp a stack and scrap night. We had a great group of ladies! This is a picture I snapped as we were just getting going. It kind of looks like a dance on a table, but really, it is a fan adjustment. You know how stampers can work up a sweat! We had to keep it cool in there! I'm glad we had some brave souls that were willing to brave a table tower to make us comfortable. I meant to take more pictures of the evening, but, we were all having so much fun I totally forgot! Oh well, next month! I'll share the page we did later. I need to get my pictures printed first.
Tomorrow my daughter turns 16! aaaahhh! You know what that means, yep, my parents are getting reeeeally old! ;o))

Ohh Happy Birthday to your DD - my DD turns 17 on Tuesday! I wonder where the time went? LOL Thankfully - I have it balanced out as I have younger children so while I deal with teenage angst - I have a 3 yo to enjoy the *cute* in the children! Your card is wonderful! Love what you did for the challenge!

Fun card, and I like your background. Loving those swirls!

It looks scary up there so high on the table, but then again, I don't DO heights...even low level ones like that.

Nice. The pink card is pretty with just a few hints of the other colors. Love how you layered your flower and the swirls are so pretty.

Happy Birthday M! I can't believe 16! I still see her as 11/12 and the girls running from house to house! K won't be 16 until Dec. but she did pass drivers ed last week and is looking forward to getting her license! Wish we could be closer together - then I might be inspired to get some crafting done!

Bradley

Sunday, my best friend died. My sweetheart of 20 years died suddenly from diabetes. We didn't know he had diabetes. It came quick and took him from me. Brad was more than just my husband, he was my best friend. I relied so very much on his strength to guide me and my children through this life. I admit I feel a bit lost without him, already. I had planned on much, much more time with him. Brad and I met on January 28th, 1989. We were both at a nightclub for under age night with our friends that had dragged us there. We were both ready to leave when we were talked into one more dance. That dance changed our lives. We hit it off right away and danced the rest of the night. In face, we were together from then on. I remember that after that night, I waited all day for his call. It was love right away for me. I felt something I had never felt before and knew that he was the one for me. We dated for six months before Brad went to Texas to go to school. We talked a lot on the phone, and I...

Soccer, projects and....Blog Candy!!

Okay, I know I promised to post some blog candy a couple days ago but, what was I thinking? The weekend has become the crazy part of my week! We have entered the World of Soccer. All you soccer moms out there will totally know what I am talking about. We are still in the little leagues of it, only one practice a week and one game. Per child of course....I'm glad my son decided he didn't want to play. Two kids is enough! It was a beautiful weekend tho. The weather was awesome. The sun got bright during the afternoon game, but every few minutes it would rain so, it kept us nice an comfy. Only in Florida can you have rain on a sunny day. It is one of the wonders of the world. I put together a few goodies for Blog Candy today. I have been having way too much fun making stuff with coasters and patterned paper lately. Stampin' Up! has made it even easier to use these two items together by offering the Tombow Liquid Adhesive. If you haven't used it, you've got to! It is aw...
