It's still Friday!

I can still post my Friday's blogger challenge! I have missed a few weeks due to the holidays but had it on my goal list for today to participate this week. I'm not sure how I feel about this card....love it-hate it kind of thing. What do YOU think?
Our challenge was to use Chocolate chip, Baja Breeze, Red, and white or vanilla. Interesting.....our holiday treasures designer paper had those exact colors in it! Coincidence? I think not! I started with a card base in Baja, added a layer of chocolate chip and then a layer of the holiday treasures DSP. The scallop circles were made with my Big Shot. The paper I used was a scrap and not quite big enough to make both full circles, so one is off center on the edge. I was bound and determined to use that partial scallop! The Thanks is from an upcoming SU stamp set. I stamped it in brown, colored it in with Red ink using my blender pen, and then added some glitz with clear stickles. I had originally put three silver brads in the bottom corner but decided I needed something with more 'presence' so I stuck the red buttons right to the top of the brads using mini glue dots.
I restrain looking at the projects the other BC gals come up with until I am doing posting my own. Now I'm going to look. I really like these colors togther and can't wait to see what they all came up with!
Happy Friday!

Fridays challenge #63

This week has been crazy. We had a fun Labor day and then actually went to school the rest of the week! The storms decided to stay away for a while. I'm glad. Our challenge this time was a color challenge. The colors are Ridinghood red, Tangerine and Pacific Point. All new In Colors at Stampin' Up! for the new catalog. I love all these colors but, together....they were a challenge! I decided to play up the red and blue and use the tangerine as a highlight. I pulled out my True Friend stamp set and stamped the large medallion style stamp all over the ridinghood red using my basic black stamp pad. It looked okay....but then I remembered the Banadana technique Pat shared in a recent Technique Junkie newsletter . You all know how much I LOVE my white gel pen, so...I went to work. I won't tell you how the bandana technique works, you'll have to visit Pat for that info. She puts out a fabulous newsletter every other month, FULL of great stampin ideas. I hear she has some gre...

Birthday blog candy!

In honor of my birthday, I am offering another package of blog candy! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite thing about getting older. :o) The candy includes a package of cardstock, metal edge tags, sanding block, cool metal border stickers, silver gel pen, and a set of mini gift cards stamped by yours truly. For some reason, my 'rechargeable batteries' decided not to 'recharge' anymore. I am quite distraught about that. I planned to share these pictures a couple of days ago, but....I had to wait til I bought some new batteries. I have to say tho, I was really afraid I had broken my camera! I'm glad it is just the batteries! I borrowed my friend's Precious stamp set the other day and have been having fun with it! I made this card using a square card base of chocolate chip (5-12" square). I stamped the swirlies in blue bayou onto a large piece of whisper white and onto a smaller piece. I cut out a butterfly and stuck i...

Soccer, projects and....Blog Candy!!

Okay, I know I promised to post some blog candy a couple days ago but, what was I thinking? The weekend has become the crazy part of my week! We have entered the World of Soccer. All you soccer moms out there will totally know what I am talking about. We are still in the little leagues of it, only one practice a week and one game. Per child of course....I'm glad my son decided he didn't want to play. Two kids is enough! It was a beautiful weekend tho. The weather was awesome. The sun got bright during the afternoon game, but every few minutes it would rain so, it kept us nice an comfy. Only in Florida can you have rain on a sunny day. It is one of the wonders of the world. I put together a few goodies for Blog Candy today. I have been having way too much fun making stuff with coasters and patterned paper lately. Stampin' Up! has made it even easier to use these two items together by offering the Tombow Liquid Adhesive. If you haven't used it, you've got to! It is aw...
