April 18th post

I tried to post these pictures yesterday but there was a problem with blogger. So, I am trying again today!
I have been SO busy lately! Doing lots of good things, but not much time for stampin or bloggin. I usually stamp on Tuesday but had the opportunity to help out a good friend so...I stamped today. I also had the plumber coming today...I've waited almost 2 months for that guy so, I was going to be here! I was expecting a huge amount of work and a huge bill to match, but...it wasn't bad at all! I love that! But, I tell ya, plumbers make the money! The labor was more than 4 times the material and he was only here ...just over an hour!

Anyway! I did stamp today! Here are two cards that I came up with. One is a Mother's day card that was inspired by a card Debbie Olsen did a few days ago. She used patterned paper, I used the Roses in Winter to make my own patterned paper. I like this card, I just wish I had a Marvy giga punch for the circle mat! I used a big circle punch for the focal point and just went around it with some pinking shears. I used the SU craft kit paper piercer to punch holes along the big curve and then connected them with a black scrap pen. The French script is stamped in Vanilla onto the burgundy paper for the card base.

The next card is one I made with left over supplies from my group swap. I used the Seeing spots and the cots and posies from the Mini catalog. I inked the flower in marigold morning and then rolled the edges in Cameo Coral. I love how it looks! I may be doing this one for my workshop tomorrow night.

I have a watercolor class this Saturday night so I will be sharing some fun watercolor ideas son!

These are both outstanding cards and totally worth the wait! I'm going to have to case the first one. I'm new to the Roses in Winter set and haven't yet made anything that I LOVE. I know I will after I case you though!

Birthday blog candy!

In honor of my birthday, I am offering another package of blog candy! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite thing about getting older. :o) The candy includes a package of cardstock, metal edge tags, sanding block, cool metal border stickers, silver gel pen, and a set of mini gift cards stamped by yours truly. For some reason, my 'rechargeable batteries' decided not to 'recharge' anymore. I am quite distraught about that. I planned to share these pictures a couple of days ago, but....I had to wait til I bought some new batteries. I have to say tho, I was really afraid I had broken my camera! I'm glad it is just the batteries! I borrowed my friend's Precious stamp set the other day and have been having fun with it! I made this card using a square card base of chocolate chip (5-12" square). I stamped the swirlies in blue bayou onto a large piece of whisper white and onto a smaller piece. I cut out a butterfly and stuck i...

Soccer, projects and....Blog Candy!!

Okay, I know I promised to post some blog candy a couple days ago but, what was I thinking? The weekend has become the crazy part of my week! We have entered the World of Soccer. All you soccer moms out there will totally know what I am talking about. We are still in the little leagues of it, only one practice a week and one game. Per child of course....I'm glad my son decided he didn't want to play. Two kids is enough! It was a beautiful weekend tho. The weather was awesome. The sun got bright during the afternoon game, but every few minutes it would rain so, it kept us nice an comfy. Only in Florida can you have rain on a sunny day. It is one of the wonders of the world. I put together a few goodies for Blog Candy today. I have been having way too much fun making stuff with coasters and patterned paper lately. Stampin' Up! has made it even easier to use these two items together by offering the Tombow Liquid Adhesive. If you haven't used it, you've got to! It is aw...

Fridays challenge #63

This week has been crazy. We had a fun Labor day and then actually went to school the rest of the week! The storms decided to stay away for a while. I'm glad. Our challenge this time was a color challenge. The colors are Ridinghood red, Tangerine and Pacific Point. All new In Colors at Stampin' Up! for the new catalog. I love all these colors but, together....they were a challenge! I decided to play up the red and blue and use the tangerine as a highlight. I pulled out my True Friend stamp set and stamped the large medallion style stamp all over the ridinghood red using my basic black stamp pad. It looked okay....but then I remembered the Banadana technique Pat shared in a recent Technique Junkie newsletter . You all know how much I LOVE my white gel pen, so...I went to work. I won't tell you how the bandana technique works, you'll have to visit Pat for that info. She puts out a fabulous newsletter every other month, FULL of great stampin ideas. I hear she has some gre...
