Spring is definitely in the air here in Florida. Of course...since we have spring like weather all winter, what that really means is...it was hot! Not too bad yet, but I think the cool weather is coming to an end. I took advantage of the weather and had myself a 3-1/2 hour nap today. I know, that doesn't sound fair, but since I have been staying up really late for the last week and still getting up really early, I felt I was due. I feel much better!
I took some time this evening to make a few simple spring cards. I pulled out the Bodacious Boquet set and came up with these two cards. I used the prescored cards and envelopes from SU for my card bases. On this one, I stamped the daisy in Summer sun and the stem in Certainly celery. I added a few bold button to the centers and tied a spring green ribbon through some 1/8 inch holes to look like leaves. The spring tag is from the everyday expressions stamped on one of my tags from the tag sheet. It is funny...I have had these tag sheets for years and never used them. I now have them sitting on my desk and I use them all the time. Out of sight, out of mind I guess! They are quite handy. I stamped the Happy from Happy Everything in black and added a strip of the same green ribbon across the top to fill in that big white space a bit. I added a piece of Celery to the inside of the card to write on. I like this card. It is kind of a backwards card for me...I usually use white on the inside and colored cardstock on the outside, but I think this has a cool feel to it.
This next card is using the same two stamp sets. I used the other half of the certainly celery for the card base and layered 1/2 of my premade card on the front. I actually stamped on both sides of this card and didn't like it, so...it became a layer! Gotta love the 'two sides of the paper' aspect of stamping! The flowers are stamped in Perfect Plum and the stems and leaves in celery.
I added some clear buttons with crystal effects and stamped the happy in black again. It was amazing the difference the black gingham made to this card. It was a sweet, conservative card til I added that. Now it is a sassy fun card. I may play with this one some more!
