I have been in a major organizing mood. Do you ever get that way? I tend to get that way at certain times of the month (if you know what I mean) and also on Thursdays. Yep, Thursday is a big cleaning day for me. I have to be careful or I stay up all night Thursday night and then I sleep through my date on Friday night! I think the Thursday thing is due to years of scrapbooking with friends on Friday mornings. My Alabama scrappin buddies were awesome. We would get together "for a few hours" on Friday and end up scrapping til the kids came home from school....and sometimes longer! We would slow down for lunch, but keep on going. I have some scrappin buddies here in Florida now and we actually meet on Tuesday and Friday. I guess the scrappin mostly takes place on Friday and Tuesday is general stamping. Lately, Friday's have been busy and we haven't been able to scrap. I am missing it! Since tomorrow is Good Friday and the kids are out of school, we won't be meeting to scrap. It is probably a good thing since I have been moving furniture and re-organizing things in my office...yet again. I am working towards finishing so I can take pictures and share them with you all. I am fairly spoiled in my stamp room. I actually have a pretty nice space. I am blessed to have a husband and family that support my stampin/scrappin habit.

I didn't get to scrap or stamp today, but I did want to share a few scrap pages with you that I did a few months ago. These pictures are from our family vacation to AZ a few years ago. These colors are a bit out of the ordinary for me. I used the flip flops as my color jumping ground. The dots are actually 1/4" punches of cardstock glued to the page. It took a loooonnnggg time to do this, but it was fun. I used crystal effects to glue them down so I could just dot the CE and drop the 'dot' on it. The letters are traced from Heidi Swapp ghost letters onto vellum cardstock I had brayered with only orange ink. I used crystal effects on the back of the letters to glue them down and to add a bit of watery shine to them. The CE also makes the vellum curl a bit so the letters are a bit wavy. The pages have a lot of energy to them and that is exactly what the memory is of. We were at a waterpark in Mesa, AZ where the water just squirts up all over the place. It was SO hot outside that the kids had to be moving or standing in water or their feet would burn. The were running around like crazy. It was fun...and HOT!

Bradley

Sunday, my best friend died. My sweetheart of 20 years died suddenly from diabetes. We didn't know he had diabetes. It came quick and took him from me. Brad was more than just my husband, he was my best friend. I relied so very much on his strength to guide me and my children through this life. I admit I feel a bit lost without him, already. I had planned on much, much more time with him. Brad and I met on January 28th, 1989. We were both at a nightclub for under age night with our friends that had dragged us there. We were both ready to leave when we were talked into one more dance. That dance changed our lives. We hit it off right away and danced the rest of the night. In face, we were together from then on. I remember that after that night, I waited all day for his call. It was love right away for me. I felt something I had never felt before and knew that he was the one for me. We dated for six months before Brad went to Texas to go to school. We talked a lot on the phone, and I...

Doubles with candy!!

Today is another fun summer day at my house. The kids are running here and there and I'm just trying to keep up. I realized I hadn't sent out Father's day cards yet, so that is what I worked on today. I tried to keep these nice and clean and manly. I remember going to a demonstration at a Stampin' Up! convention years ago where Kevin Theeson and another guy(I forget his name....) talked about 'manly' cards. One of the things they stressed was that guys don't like cards made with pastel cards. They prefer bold bright and earth element colors. I'm not sure if they suggested we stay away from florals too, but I kind of figured that was a safe idea. ;o) For this card I started with some textured Wild Wasabi cardstock cut to 10-1/2 x 5-1/4. That gave me a 5-1/4" card when folded. The striped paper across the center is from a retired SU simply scrappin kit...primary colors I think it was called. I added a strip of Real Red to each side of the stripes for...
