Blueberry flip

I still have blueberries in my fridge....I admit it. I haven't gotten around to canning them. We have enjoyed snacking on them during game night tho! Fresh blueberries are the best! I have to say tho...I haven't been sitting around being lazy! I canned another batch of tomatoes and peaches. And then today...I bought over 200 cucumbers to pickle. I think I may have caught a bug! The best part is that my kids are totally eating this up! They are having a blast helping me. I love working together with them. It has been the best summer so far!

I also had a fun stamp gathering on Saturday night. Here is one of the cards we made. It is a flip flap card that Pat Huntoon came up with. Check out her website for tons of great ideas! You can even sign up for her technique Junkies
newsletter. If you do, tell her I sent ya! For the base of this card I used SU basic black. The patterned paper is yet another piece from the awesome pallete of patterns from this month's special. I used both sides of the piece on this so you could see them both. Two sided paper is so fun! The heart is stamped with black onto barely banana cardstock and colored with an appricot appeal marker and my awesome white gel pen. I cut it out and mounted it on some dimensionals and stuck it in the middle of the stamped word heart.
A simple but fun card. Here is a view of it opened. Enjoy!

Birthday blog candy!

In honor of my birthday, I am offering another package of blog candy! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite thing about getting older. :o) The candy includes a package of cardstock, metal edge tags, sanding block, cool metal border stickers, silver gel pen, and a set of mini gift cards stamped by yours truly. For some reason, my 'rechargeable batteries' decided not to 'recharge' anymore. I am quite distraught about that. I planned to share these pictures a couple of days ago, but....I had to wait til I bought some new batteries. I have to say tho, I was really afraid I had broken my camera! I'm glad it is just the batteries! I borrowed my friend's Precious stamp set the other day and have been having fun with it! I made this card using a square card base of chocolate chip (5-12" square). I stamped the swirlies in blue bayou onto a large piece of whisper white and onto a smaller piece. I cut out a butterfly and stuck i...

Bradley

Sunday, my best friend died. My sweetheart of 20 years died suddenly from diabetes. We didn't know he had diabetes. It came quick and took him from me. Brad was more than just my husband, he was my best friend. I relied so very much on his strength to guide me and my children through this life. I admit I feel a bit lost without him, already. I had planned on much, much more time with him. Brad and I met on January 28th, 1989. We were both at a nightclub for under age night with our friends that had dragged us there. We were both ready to leave when we were talked into one more dance. That dance changed our lives. We hit it off right away and danced the rest of the night. In face, we were together from then on. I remember that after that night, I waited all day for his call. It was love right away for me. I felt something I had never felt before and knew that he was the one for me. We dated for six months before Brad went to Texas to go to school. We talked a lot on the phone, and I...

Soccer, projects and....Blog Candy!!

Okay, I know I promised to post some blog candy a couple days ago but, what was I thinking? The weekend has become the crazy part of my week! We have entered the World of Soccer. All you soccer moms out there will totally know what I am talking about. We are still in the little leagues of it, only one practice a week and one game. Per child of course....I'm glad my son decided he didn't want to play. Two kids is enough! It was a beautiful weekend tho. The weather was awesome. The sun got bright during the afternoon game, but every few minutes it would rain so, it kept us nice an comfy. Only in Florida can you have rain on a sunny day. It is one of the wonders of the world. I put together a few goodies for Blog Candy today. I have been having way too much fun making stuff with coasters and patterned paper lately. Stampin' Up! has made it even easier to use these two items together by offering the Tombow Liquid Adhesive. If you haven't used it, you've got to! It is aw...
