New stamps!!

I finally got my new stamps!! yay!! Since I live way over here in Florida, it takes a full seven days to get an order from Stampin' Up! Some weeks are longer than others. Especially when I am waiting for stamps from the new, not yet released, much anticipated, 2007-2008 SU catalog! My new goodies arrived late last night so, today we stamped! I had a couple gals over to help break in the new stuff. In spite of all the kids running through the house we were able to make some fun stuff and even get a few words in edgewise. This first card is made with the Baroque Motif stamp set. I layered certainly celery and Wild Wasabi onto a white card base and stamped the the totally cool swirly onto the celery with wasabi. The flower is stamped with Groovy Guava onto guava cardstock and again onto white cardstock with guava. I cut out the flower with the surrounding dots on the guava paper and then cut out the one on white but without the surrounding dots. I put an icy bling in the center of the flower and then stuck it to the guava cardstock flower with dimensionals. I stuck the layered flower to the card with more dimensionals and then stamped Cherish with Wasabi up on the wasabi paper. This card is SO simple, yet...elegant. I can tell I am going to be using this set a lot!!

The next card was made with the Pick a petal set. A fun flower building set. I am totally excited to play with it more! I made this cute little square card with black cardstock layered onto the new Pomagranate cardstock (love the new colors!!) I stamped the polka dot petal around in a circle to make the flower. It was amazingly easy to make this flower. Don't EVEN be afraid of this set! I stamped the doodley flower center with wasabi onto celery (can you tell what was on my desk....yes, celery paper. Lots of it!) and then punched it out with the 1/2 " circle punch. I took my "totally cool white gel pen" and colored in the dots on the petals and filled in the circle on the center. My white craft pad is a bit dry so the petals have a bit of a blue feel to them. I kind of like it!!

I plan to play more tonight while I am canning my pickles! Have a good one!

I love your cards! But I have to tell you that when I scrolled down to the green baroque card all I could see was a little running flower vine man! Were you high on life or something else ? haha

Birthday blog candy!

In honor of my birthday, I am offering another package of blog candy! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite thing about getting older. :o) The candy includes a package of cardstock, metal edge tags, sanding block, cool metal border stickers, silver gel pen, and a set of mini gift cards stamped by yours truly. For some reason, my 'rechargeable batteries' decided not to 'recharge' anymore. I am quite distraught about that. I planned to share these pictures a couple of days ago, but....I had to wait til I bought some new batteries. I have to say tho, I was really afraid I had broken my camera! I'm glad it is just the batteries! I borrowed my friend's Precious stamp set the other day and have been having fun with it! I made this card using a square card base of chocolate chip (5-12" square). I stamped the swirlies in blue bayou onto a large piece of whisper white and onto a smaller piece. I cut out a butterfly and stuck i...

Bradley

Sunday, my best friend died. My sweetheart of 20 years died suddenly from diabetes. We didn't know he had diabetes. It came quick and took him from me. Brad was more than just my husband, he was my best friend. I relied so very much on his strength to guide me and my children through this life. I admit I feel a bit lost without him, already. I had planned on much, much more time with him. Brad and I met on January 28th, 1989. We were both at a nightclub for under age night with our friends that had dragged us there. We were both ready to leave when we were talked into one more dance. That dance changed our lives. We hit it off right away and danced the rest of the night. In face, we were together from then on. I remember that after that night, I waited all day for his call. It was love right away for me. I felt something I had never felt before and knew that he was the one for me. We dated for six months before Brad went to Texas to go to school. We talked a lot on the phone, and I...

Soccer, projects and....Blog Candy!!

Okay, I know I promised to post some blog candy a couple days ago but, what was I thinking? The weekend has become the crazy part of my week! We have entered the World of Soccer. All you soccer moms out there will totally know what I am talking about. We are still in the little leagues of it, only one practice a week and one game. Per child of course....I'm glad my son decided he didn't want to play. Two kids is enough! It was a beautiful weekend tho. The weather was awesome. The sun got bright during the afternoon game, but every few minutes it would rain so, it kept us nice an comfy. Only in Florida can you have rain on a sunny day. It is one of the wonders of the world. I put together a few goodies for Blog Candy today. I have been having way too much fun making stuff with coasters and patterned paper lately. Stampin' Up! has made it even easier to use these two items together by offering the Tombow Liquid Adhesive. If you haven't used it, you've got to! It is aw...
