End of Holiday.....sigh....

Please excuse all my typos and seemingly lazy typing. I am on my laptop and I am missing a key and not used to this keyboard. Pathetic, aren't I?

Today is my last day at the spa. It has been so nice to be pampered and spoiled for the last few days. I have loved it but...I am ready to go home. I miss my family!

Here are a few shots from my trip. I didn't realize how much I missed the mountains! They are so beautiful here. The views are amazing. This picture was taken while in the car on one of our many excursions.

Isn't it amazing?

The good news is I am feeling very relaxed and good. The bad news is we found not only the See's candy shop but also the Rocky Mountain chocolate store so....none of my clothes fit. We didn't eat THAT much...and the chocolate covered apples count as fruit, right? At Sees my dear friend Michelle introduced me to the Molasses sticks. Oh my... LOVE those! In the picture here, we have chocolate covered grahams, oreos and pepermint sticks. Yes, I think we will be stopping by one more time on our way out today.

We found this cute hat shop the other nite and tried on tons of hats trying to find one like the hat Catherine Jeta Jones wore in the movie With Reservations. So cute! This isn't anywhere near the hat, but...it is way cute! You will also notice that my hair is straight in this shot. I had it done and they straightened it. It was awesome! It made me miss my straight hair. Of course, in Florida, it is never so smooth and silky. The humidity makes it have a mind of it's own.

Lastly, here is another project we did at leadership last week. It was really fun to do. It is a trifold card meaning it opens on the right and then again on the left. The dots along the side are rubons as well as the tiny white flower on the chipboard heart. Did you know the rubons come in black and white? Very cool! I also love our new striped ribbon. Yes, I did do this card a bit different from the example, but not too much. I added the touquoise strip along the diagonal. I just felt it needed a little something more.

I fly home tonight and tomorrow. Red eye with three stops. Whose idea was this again? Most likely mine. Believe it or not, I cancelled my foot and scalp massage for today so I could just vegg in the hammock with my book. It was lovely. Besides....I had to finish that book before I got on the plane. I have two more dying to be read! I finished Atonement by who ever that was, and am not debating on where I should read The Sex Life of Cannibles or the cute mystery book Michelle gave me.....oh, these decisions are so hard! I also have a book by Suzanne Somers about aging hormones....um, yeah, that will be an 'at home' read. Interesting but probably not enough to entertain me on a plane where I most likely will be sandwiched between two body builders. Please let that not be true!

See you in Florida!

Bradley

Sunday, my best friend died. My sweetheart of 20 years died suddenly from diabetes. We didn't know he had diabetes. It came quick and took him from me. Brad was more than just my husband, he was my best friend. I relied so very much on his strength to guide me and my children through this life. I admit I feel a bit lost without him, already. I had planned on much, much more time with him. Brad and I met on January 28th, 1989. We were both at a nightclub for under age night with our friends that had dragged us there. We were both ready to leave when we were talked into one more dance. That dance changed our lives. We hit it off right away and danced the rest of the night. In face, we were together from then on. I remember that after that night, I waited all day for his call. It was love right away for me. I felt something I had never felt before and knew that he was the one for me. We dated for six months before Brad went to Texas to go to school. We talked a lot on the phone, and I...

I will draw a winner tomorrow (Friday) night and post the winner on Saturday after I get back from the SU regional in Tampa. Q: What is the last book you read that really inspired you?

Doubles with candy!!

Today is another fun summer day at my house. The kids are running here and there and I'm just trying to keep up. I realized I hadn't sent out Father's day cards yet, so that is what I worked on today. I tried to keep these nice and clean and manly. I remember going to a demonstration at a Stampin' Up! convention years ago where Kevin Theeson and another guy(I forget his name....) talked about 'manly' cards. One of the things they stressed was that guys don't like cards made with pastel cards. They prefer bold bright and earth element colors. I'm not sure if they suggested we stay away from florals too, but I kind of figured that was a safe idea. ;o) For this card I started with some textured Wild Wasabi cardstock cut to 10-1/2 x 5-1/4. That gave me a 5-1/4" card when folded. The striped paper across the center is from a retired SU simply scrappin kit...primary colors I think it was called. I added a strip of Real Red to each side of the stripes for...
