Friday's challenge

Okay, I lied. I didn't get my scrap page up here. Sorry! I worked almost all day on my presentation and flyers for my events this weekend. I didn't play at all! I really want to get my pages done so I can display them Saturday so, don't give up hope!
I did take a few minutes to make a card for this week's blogger's challenge. Our challenge was to use Black, Red and Kiwi on a project. I got my new stamps yesterday so...an excuse to use them! I HAD to have these Fifth Avenue Floral stamps, they are gorgeous! I stamped the biggest bloom with real red classic ink onto whisper white and then used an aqua painter to add more real red ink and smear it around. You have to be careful doing this on whisper white cardstock. If you get too much water on it, it will bead up. I think I took it right to the bead point on this card. I added dazzling diamonds glitter all over to give it some class. The border along the bottom is the new Eyelet border punch from Stampin' Up! I love it! If you thought the scallop border was easy to use, this one is even easier!! I added a strip of red across the bottom above the eyelet border to give it the illusino of more layers.
I'm off to make my display boards and continue getting ready for tomorrow. If you are in the area, be sure to stop by the Cocoa Beach High school and check out the vendor fair going on. It is all to benefit the American Cancer Society. Hope to see you there!

Bradley

Sunday, my best friend died. My sweetheart of 20 years died suddenly from diabetes. We didn't know he had diabetes. It came quick and took him from me. Brad was more than just my husband, he was my best friend. I relied so very much on his strength to guide me and my children through this life. I admit I feel a bit lost without him, already. I had planned on much, much more time with him. Brad and I met on January 28th, 1989. We were both at a nightclub for under age night with our friends that had dragged us there. We were both ready to leave when we were talked into one more dance. That dance changed our lives. We hit it off right away and danced the rest of the night. In face, we were together from then on. I remember that after that night, I waited all day for his call. It was love right away for me. I felt something I had never felt before and knew that he was the one for me. We dated for six months before Brad went to Texas to go to school. We talked a lot on the phone, and I...

Soccer, projects and....Blog Candy!!

Okay, I know I promised to post some blog candy a couple days ago but, what was I thinking? The weekend has become the crazy part of my week! We have entered the World of Soccer. All you soccer moms out there will totally know what I am talking about. We are still in the little leagues of it, only one practice a week and one game. Per child of course....I'm glad my son decided he didn't want to play. Two kids is enough! It was a beautiful weekend tho. The weather was awesome. The sun got bright during the afternoon game, but every few minutes it would rain so, it kept us nice an comfy. Only in Florida can you have rain on a sunny day. It is one of the wonders of the world. I put together a few goodies for Blog Candy today. I have been having way too much fun making stuff with coasters and patterned paper lately. Stampin' Up! has made it even easier to use these two items together by offering the Tombow Liquid Adhesive. If you haven't used it, you've got to! It is aw...
