This week was a busy one for me with a sick husband, "teenagers", and field days. The weather has been awesome for the outside time. Cloudy, with a hint of wind and fairly cool. I can't complain!
This week our blogger challenge was a sketch. I tried to paste it here but got frustrated so...you don't get to see it. But you do get to see my cards! I did two because I really enjoyed the sketch. It was for a long card and I still had some of these long notes in my envelope drawer, just dying to be used! This first one is made with baja breeze paper (but I'll use that long note envelope), cut to 6-1/2 square and folded. I stamped the butterfly from Good Friend (available now!) with Baja breeze in the background, layered a strip of DSP and Chocolate chip and then added the focal point with dimensionals. The hardest part of this little card was cutting out that cool frame around the quote. I hear myself thinking the things my customers say...."I want a punch for every stamp!" LOL seriously...we would all be completely broke then! Wait...I already am! bummer! Anyway, ....
This next card actually uses a guava long note. I added DSP along the bottom and the wide grosgrain across the middle. Since the card opens on the left, I used sticky strip to adhere my ribbon to the front instead of cutting a hole and wrapping it around the front of the card. Uses less ribbon this way too. I used the small oval punch along with the new scallop oval punch (totally cool!) along with this new set from the new mini catalog. The ,metal flower on the bottom right is one of the awesome flower brads. These things are hefty! Very cool! I wanted the focal point to be a bit bigger so I used the white gel pen to add dots around the top half of the oval.
