No, that isn't a math thing...I'm talking about my siblings and myself. We are all R's. Rebecca, Robert (Rob), Rachel and Rhea. My parents and also R's. Robert and Reba. I always thought that was kind of fun. When we went to Jester's for my dad's birthday, they got a good laugh out of all of us R's. Especially when my brother in law "Roger" said his name. You can imagine...
I scrapped these photos Tuesday night and kept looking at them....do they need more? But I decided to just go with them as they were.
The background paper is from Cosmo Cricket and I love the rugged simplicity of it. The only problem is...I am SO used to using Stampin' Up! paper and being able to coordinate my colors....it is hard with other papers. The closest color I could find to go with this was Barely Banana and Chocolate chip. I think it works. I added some Rusty Pickly rick rack...honeslty just because my mother HATES rick rack. Even saying the word makes her cringe. So, what would be better on a picture of all of her kids? LOL The swirly and the smile stamps are from Becky Higgins, the clear flowers from Heidi Swapp, the metal tag from...memory makers I think, and the chip board letters/numer are from various places. They were all actually patterned on the front but I sanded them off and inked then with a chocolate chip craft pad. The rhinestone brads are Stampin' Up!. I used a 1/8" hole punch to punch the hole in the flower and then used my paper snips to poke a small slit in my background paper so I could put the brad through and not have the prongs showing from the front.
These photos are from a year ago when I went to Arizona with Thorin for his cousin Jake's birthday. They have close birthdays so it was a treat for them to be together. Jake had come her for Thorin's birthday too.

Fridays challenge #63

This week has been crazy. We had a fun Labor day and then actually went to school the rest of the week! The storms decided to stay away for a while. I'm glad. Our challenge this time was a color challenge. The colors are Ridinghood red, Tangerine and Pacific Point. All new In Colors at Stampin' Up! for the new catalog. I love all these colors but, together....they were a challenge! I decided to play up the red and blue and use the tangerine as a highlight. I pulled out my True Friend stamp set and stamped the large medallion style stamp all over the ridinghood red using my basic black stamp pad. It looked okay....but then I remembered the Banadana technique Pat shared in a recent Technique Junkie newsletter . You all know how much I LOVE my white gel pen, so...I went to work. I won't tell you how the bandana technique works, you'll have to visit Pat for that info. She puts out a fabulous newsletter every other month, FULL of great stampin ideas. I hear she has some gre...

Birthday blog candy!

In honor of my birthday, I am offering another package of blog candy! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite thing about getting older. :o) The candy includes a package of cardstock, metal edge tags, sanding block, cool metal border stickers, silver gel pen, and a set of mini gift cards stamped by yours truly. For some reason, my 'rechargeable batteries' decided not to 'recharge' anymore. I am quite distraught about that. I planned to share these pictures a couple of days ago, but....I had to wait til I bought some new batteries. I have to say tho, I was really afraid I had broken my camera! I'm glad it is just the batteries! I borrowed my friend's Precious stamp set the other day and have been having fun with it! I made this card using a square card base of chocolate chip (5-12" square). I stamped the swirlies in blue bayou onto a large piece of whisper white and onto a smaller piece. I cut out a butterfly and stuck i...

Soccer, projects and....Blog Candy!!

Okay, I know I promised to post some blog candy a couple days ago but, what was I thinking? The weekend has become the crazy part of my week! We have entered the World of Soccer. All you soccer moms out there will totally know what I am talking about. We are still in the little leagues of it, only one practice a week and one game. Per child of course....I'm glad my son decided he didn't want to play. Two kids is enough! It was a beautiful weekend tho. The weather was awesome. The sun got bright during the afternoon game, but every few minutes it would rain so, it kept us nice an comfy. Only in Florida can you have rain on a sunny day. It is one of the wonders of the world. I put together a few goodies for Blog Candy today. I have been having way too much fun making stuff with coasters and patterned paper lately. Stampin' Up! has made it even easier to use these two items together by offering the Tombow Liquid Adhesive. If you haven't used it, you've got to! It is aw...
