Bloggers Challenge - Inspiration

I hope you all forgive me for being a bit late with my Friday Bloggers Challenge. The holidays have kept me busy! I haven't had nearly enough time for stamping. On the flip side, I have had loads of family time! I am really enjoying it. Christmas was this last week and we had my father in law in town. He is always lots of fun. Then, I had my anniversary this weekend as well! 18 years. Can you believe it? With the number of kids I have...yes, you can believe it!
Anyway! We had a bloggers challenge to make something based on something we saw that inspired us. We had this challenge a month or so ago as well, and I knew right off what I was going to do. Of course, I never did get it done that week so I was excited to have another chance. This is a beach towel that found residence in our home a while ago. (I swear, we collect more towels, socks, and random shoes that should be allowed!) The colors were just so vivid and bright and, frankly, colors I would never put together, that I was dying to play with them. I decided to use the new Time Well Spent set from the upcoming SU catalog. (You know, nothing stamps better than New Stamps!) I chose cardstock in Green Galore, Tempting Turquoise and Garden Green because I thought they were pretty close to my inspiration towel. I stamped flowers on to both the green galore and turquoise with the coordinating color ink and then highlighted different areas with my white gel pen, Garden Green marker and the Versamarker. I was going to use my torquoise marker, but it was a bit dry and I liked the look of the Vpen better. I attached my green galore and turquoise cardstock to my garden green card base and added a strip of soft sky across the middle and a scrap piece of ribbon from the Flirty ribbon from last year. The sentiment is stamped with Artichoke and colored in with the M3. I thought it turned out pretty close to the inspiration. I loved the turquoise background so much I made a second card with it!

This one is way simpler. I simply stuck the strip of flowered paper to a confetti white card base, stamped the dots from Along the Same Lines in Artichokse and then mounted the Friends, which I inked with my Garden Green marker, over the part where I didn't line the dots up so well. Don't you just love stamping? You can fix anything!

In other news, my little B pulled another tooth tonight. The poor thing was hanging by an invisible thread! He was afraid it would hurt to pull it out, but I convinced him that if he didn't pull it out before bed he would swallow it in his sleep. So, he gave it a TINY tug and it fell out. Such a cutie! He then proceeded to tell his dad the 12 steps to get his tooth to the tooth fairy, get his money, and then get his tooth back. I admit...I scooted over to a pen and paper so I could right them all down! Watch for that scrap page!! We had to have a little photo shoot with my new camera and his new hole. This isn't the best picture but...it isn't the worst either! He is cute no matter what!
