Okay, this card is WAY cuter in person! I don't know what my computer did to it, but...I really like it. I was inspired by a scrapbook page in my latest Simple Scrapbooks magazine. The page was all white with a cluster of pictures in the lower right hand corner area and a title running up the side of it. This is kind of close....the white was a bit too much with the white behind the critters so I used the good old Canvas bkgrd with my celebration spectrum pad. Did you know you could use those on stamps?LOL I have used them so much with the brayer lately, it felt almost like a new idea to use it on a stamp! Anyway, I don't know if you can see it, but I put crystal effects on the elephants eye and the giraffe's spots. I tried to use it on the lion's eyes but...it made him look like he was wearing goggles! Not the look I was going for, so he got the white gel pen on his eyes. It really made them pop so I decided to use the pen on the flowers too. I just LOVE this pen! I think I have 6 of them...all barely working. I use them up too quick! On another topic, life is good at my house. I finally finished my entries for the HOF and the SU contests and mailed them off. whew! I feel like I should throw myself a party just for completing them! I had to introduce myself to my family today...I've been working so hard on these projects I have been a bit absent. I have managed to keep my craft room in fairly good shape tho! It is amazing what having a system can do for you. I am one that always generates TONS of scrap papers when I scrap or stamp. So, I made a place for those. I have a three drawer unit under the table to the right of my desk with punches in the top drawer, colored scraps in the second drawer and white and vanilla scraps in the bottom drawer. It has been wonderful! When I am done with a project I just slip my papers in the drawers and voila! clean! I have even trained myself to go to the drawers first when looking for paper instead of going for the full sheets right off. Maybe this will save me some paper!

I hope you enjoy the card....I received my shipment of coasters today so....watch for coaster projects!!

So very Cute! I love those adorable animals but every time I get them out I hate what I do. I guess I'll just have to case my mentor, Beckie!

Fridays challenge #63

This week has been crazy. We had a fun Labor day and then actually went to school the rest of the week! The storms decided to stay away for a while. I'm glad. Our challenge this time was a color challenge. The colors are Ridinghood red, Tangerine and Pacific Point. All new In Colors at Stampin' Up! for the new catalog. I love all these colors but, together....they were a challenge! I decided to play up the red and blue and use the tangerine as a highlight. I pulled out my True Friend stamp set and stamped the large medallion style stamp all over the ridinghood red using my basic black stamp pad. It looked okay....but then I remembered the Banadana technique Pat shared in a recent Technique Junkie newsletter . You all know how much I LOVE my white gel pen, so...I went to work. I won't tell you how the bandana technique works, you'll have to visit Pat for that info. She puts out a fabulous newsletter every other month, FULL of great stampin ideas. I hear she has some gre...

Soccer, projects and....Blog Candy!!

Okay, I know I promised to post some blog candy a couple days ago but, what was I thinking? The weekend has become the crazy part of my week! We have entered the World of Soccer. All you soccer moms out there will totally know what I am talking about. We are still in the little leagues of it, only one practice a week and one game. Per child of course....I'm glad my son decided he didn't want to play. Two kids is enough! It was a beautiful weekend tho. The weather was awesome. The sun got bright during the afternoon game, but every few minutes it would rain so, it kept us nice an comfy. Only in Florida can you have rain on a sunny day. It is one of the wonders of the world. I put together a few goodies for Blog Candy today. I have been having way too much fun making stuff with coasters and patterned paper lately. Stampin' Up! has made it even easier to use these two items together by offering the Tombow Liquid Adhesive. If you haven't used it, you've got to! It is aw...

Birthday blog candy!

In honor of my birthday, I am offering another package of blog candy! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite thing about getting older. :o) The candy includes a package of cardstock, metal edge tags, sanding block, cool metal border stickers, silver gel pen, and a set of mini gift cards stamped by yours truly. For some reason, my 'rechargeable batteries' decided not to 'recharge' anymore. I am quite distraught about that. I planned to share these pictures a couple of days ago, but....I had to wait til I bought some new batteries. I have to say tho, I was really afraid I had broken my camera! I'm glad it is just the batteries! I borrowed my friend's Precious stamp set the other day and have been having fun with it! I made this card using a square card base of chocolate chip (5-12" square). I stamped the swirlies in blue bayou onto a large piece of whisper white and onto a smaller piece. I cut out a butterfly and stuck i...
