Do you ever look through your stamps and see a set and think....have I ever used that? I did that last night after my workshop. I was in the creating mood and thought I would make a quick card before bed. Yes, it was 11pm but....isn't that still early, creative-ly speaking?
;o) Anyway, I was looking for a certain set and instead found my Wild Rose set. I know I have had that for a long time, but I didn't remember using it. I felt a bit guilty so I got it out. Was I ever surprised when I found a bunch of cut out masks that I had made for the set when I (obviously) had used it the last time! That, my friend, is a happy find! I hate making little masks, so I try to always save them. Of course, I didn't use any of the masks on this card....but maybe later today....I'll get back to you!
The base of this card is made with Blue bayou. The card measures 4 x 6. Kind of a fun size. I will have to make a special envelope for it. I layered a piece of river rock cardstock that I had stamped the canvas background on with WILD WASABI ink. The three rosebuds are stamped onto vanilla paper using WASABI and PURELY POMEGRANITE. To get the different shades of red, I inked up the bottom layer and stamped off once before stamping onto my cardstock. For the top layer, I stamped it full strength. This flower is super easy to line up! I tore the bottom of the flower pieces and then sponged the edges with the WASABI ink. I wanted to highlight one flower so I stuck two behind the white tafetta ribbon and one over it. The words are from the SAB Love and Happiness rubons. They come all in a straight line, but with these rubons, it is SO easy to manipulate and change them! If you haven't tried them, you just have to! I punched the cornes with the ticket punch and added some silver brads. I wanted black. but....I guess I'm out! I used my paper piercer to adde some stitch markes to the corners and then rubbed the edges of the card with my MOCHA chalk options pad. When I was all done, I decided it needed just a bit more so I added a tiny bit of Stickles to the petals of the rosebuds. It really gives the flowers more depth I think.
Well, Ms Creative here realized today that the Valentine's for her son's class were due today so....yep, you guessed it! I will be making Valentines in a fevered rush this morning so I can take them in. Darn! I have to stamp again today! muaaaa haahaa!! (evil laugh)
