This week our challenge was to use Old Olive, Purely Pomegranate, and Brilliant Blue together. I thought it was a nice color combo. All bright vibrant colors. Here is what I came up with. I used a Pomegranate stamp pad to ink up my flower (heartfelt thanks) and an Old Olive marker to ink the stem. I spritzed the stamp with water and stamped the flower three times onto watercolor paper, without reinking. This gave me the varying colors of flowers. I used my heat tool to dry the flowers. I stamped directly over the flowers again with the same stamp using a Versamark pad this time. Because the Vmark is a sticky pad, I was able to dump clear embossing powder over that and emboss the flowers. The reason I embossed the flowers was because I wanted to be able to watercolor blue behind them without the colors smearing. I smashed the lid of my brillian blue pad into the pad to create an ink pallete and added some water to that. I used a wide watercolor brush to brush color across the entire image. It was a bit splotchy so I spritzed that with water as well to blend the blue better.
I added some yellow rhinestone brads to the centers, a ribbon around the front with words from the Lots of Thoughts SAB set, stamped in Olive. I mounted the front onto Olive, white and then the card base of Pomegranate. What do you think?
