A Sweet Day

Stampin' Up! is having a sale on several of their birthday themed sets. I can't resist a sale...especially on stamps! I had been wanting this set anyway so...I got it! You can't never have too many birthday cards on hand. I made this card using whisper white for the base and layering a piece of pink pirouette DSP on the front. I punched the edge of the front of the card with the scallop border punch and layered a piece of pink pirouette cardstock on the inside so it peeks out from under the scallops. The focal point is stamped with basic black and colored in using the blender pens and Pink Pirouette and Sahara sand stamp pads. I used a real red marker to color in the cherries. I wanted the frosting to really pop so I colored them in with the 2-way glue pen and dumped dazzling diamonds over them. They look awesome in person! The sentiment is stamped with black and punched out with the new jumbo oval punch. I added a couple of pink rhinestone brads for some bling and a pink striped ribbon on the left. I think this might be a "girl" birthday card? You think? :o))

I love this card. It looks so clean and neat. Also love the pink. Definitely going to have to use it as a sample.

Bradley

Sunday, my best friend died. My sweetheart of 20 years died suddenly from diabetes. We didn't know he had diabetes. It came quick and took him from me. Brad was more than just my husband, he was my best friend. I relied so very much on his strength to guide me and my children through this life. I admit I feel a bit lost without him, already. I had planned on much, much more time with him. Brad and I met on January 28th, 1989. We were both at a nightclub for under age night with our friends that had dragged us there. We were both ready to leave when we were talked into one more dance. That dance changed our lives. We hit it off right away and danced the rest of the night. In face, we were together from then on. I remember that after that night, I waited all day for his call. It was love right away for me. I felt something I had never felt before and knew that he was the one for me. We dated for six months before Brad went to Texas to go to school. We talked a lot on the phone, and I...

Soccer, projects and....Blog Candy!!

Okay, I know I promised to post some blog candy a couple days ago but, what was I thinking? The weekend has become the crazy part of my week! We have entered the World of Soccer. All you soccer moms out there will totally know what I am talking about. We are still in the little leagues of it, only one practice a week and one game. Per child of course....I'm glad my son decided he didn't want to play. Two kids is enough! It was a beautiful weekend tho. The weather was awesome. The sun got bright during the afternoon game, but every few minutes it would rain so, it kept us nice an comfy. Only in Florida can you have rain on a sunny day. It is one of the wonders of the world. I put together a few goodies for Blog Candy today. I have been having way too much fun making stuff with coasters and patterned paper lately. Stampin' Up! has made it even easier to use these two items together by offering the Tombow Liquid Adhesive. If you haven't used it, you've got to! It is aw...
