Neopolitan joy

Brynn was right! I am posting yet another card done with the Doodle this set. I just LOVE this set! I can't remember the last stamp set I have had this much fun with. I hope you all are not sick of it yet! Here is the card I made yesterday. Some of you may be receiving it in the mail...sorry to ruin the surprise, but it is even better in person! I love combining pink and brown together. It reminds me of Neopolitan ice cream. yummy! I used Chocolate chip and pretty in pink cardstock for the card. The flowers and swirls are stamped with the basic brown ink pad. I stamped the focal flowers with the same ink on vanilla paper (fitting, don't you think?) then I cut them out and watercolored them. I used the blender pens with the regal rose and pretty in pink stamp pads. The top flower is popped up with a dimensional and there is daz diamonds glitter in the middle of both flowers. I made the scalloped border with the slot punch. I used the white gel pen to add some faux stitch lines. One of the things I love best about this card is the way the background on the outside is carried into the inside. I think we, especially ME, forget about the inside of our cards sometimes. We work so hard on the outside and then just leave the inside blank. Not on this one! I stamped more flowers and swirls inside too. If this set doesn't make the big catalog...I will cry!!

I love this card! Thanks for sending one to me - it was great to have a pattern to use for a "unique" sort of fold since I am horrible at following directions - I just loved it! In fact I used yours as a template for my class last week :-)

Bradley

Sunday, my best friend died. My sweetheart of 20 years died suddenly from diabetes. We didn't know he had diabetes. It came quick and took him from me. Brad was more than just my husband, he was my best friend. I relied so very much on his strength to guide me and my children through this life. I admit I feel a bit lost without him, already. I had planned on much, much more time with him. Brad and I met on January 28th, 1989. We were both at a nightclub for under age night with our friends that had dragged us there. We were both ready to leave when we were talked into one more dance. That dance changed our lives. We hit it off right away and danced the rest of the night. In face, we were together from then on. I remember that after that night, I waited all day for his call. It was love right away for me. I felt something I had never felt before and knew that he was the one for me. We dated for six months before Brad went to Texas to go to school. We talked a lot on the phone, and I...

Birthday blog candy!

In honor of my birthday, I am offering another package of blog candy! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite thing about getting older. :o) The candy includes a package of cardstock, metal edge tags, sanding block, cool metal border stickers, silver gel pen, and a set of mini gift cards stamped by yours truly. For some reason, my 'rechargeable batteries' decided not to 'recharge' anymore. I am quite distraught about that. I planned to share these pictures a couple of days ago, but....I had to wait til I bought some new batteries. I have to say tho, I was really afraid I had broken my camera! I'm glad it is just the batteries! I borrowed my friend's Precious stamp set the other day and have been having fun with it! I made this card using a square card base of chocolate chip (5-12" square). I stamped the swirlies in blue bayou onto a large piece of whisper white and onto a smaller piece. I cut out a butterfly and stuck i...

Soccer, projects and....Blog Candy!!

Okay, I know I promised to post some blog candy a couple days ago but, what was I thinking? The weekend has become the crazy part of my week! We have entered the World of Soccer. All you soccer moms out there will totally know what I am talking about. We are still in the little leagues of it, only one practice a week and one game. Per child of course....I'm glad my son decided he didn't want to play. Two kids is enough! It was a beautiful weekend tho. The weather was awesome. The sun got bright during the afternoon game, but every few minutes it would rain so, it kept us nice an comfy. Only in Florida can you have rain on a sunny day. It is one of the wonders of the world. I put together a few goodies for Blog Candy today. I have been having way too much fun making stuff with coasters and patterned paper lately. Stampin' Up! has made it even easier to use these two items together by offering the Tombow Liquid Adhesive. If you haven't used it, you've got to! It is aw...
